A Tribe Retreat Day Poem, by Jo Walker

Heathercombe on the Moor, by Jo Walker
Oh how awesome Heathercombe on the Moor, it’s been 2yrs since I’ve been here before
Finally we can meet face to face and soon be able to embrace
Cool we’re all at 36.8! After the laugh we open the gate
Hugs and smiles you can feel the connection
The land the love and anticipation
We ground facing North South East and West allowing the day to manifest
Ah the Forrest Room where I was told my Gold! We chill on the floor waiting for the day to unfold
Time for check in my heart starts to race surprisingly I’m open I find, that’s cos everyone’s so kind
So much power in sharing how I feel won’t be long before a delicious meal
So much compassion in the room my confidence begins to Zoom, never have I felt so at ease with a group and wow what amazing soup
With connection and reflection I picked up some nuggets to take away, oh what an amazing day
I can’t thank Write to Freedom enough for sharing all this amazing stuff
I look forward to we meet again, the love the laughter and feelin Zen.
An Experience Day Poem, by Jan
September 2020
Coalescing
Perspective
The journey to the heart
Hearth Keepers combined
Love of nature
Entwined
Into peace Divine
Laughter
Connection
Deep reflection
The waves of wind
On the shores of our soul
The joy we find
Once more
Green and Brown
Trees and Ground
Swaying our limbs
In time
Muscles taut
To move once more
With the life-blood
That abounds
Grief released
Peace retrieved
Heart awakened in sound.
All at once
At one with all
Weaving natures crown
Divine calls
To us all
Relax
And make no sound
Inner sanctum rejoices
As the walls
Came
Tumbling
Down

The Lover Archetype,
by Ali
May 2020
Connection through feeling, a journey of discovery. The image I printed is a leaf from my Sycamore Tree. It tells a story through its veins. You need to look deeper on the underside to reveal the beauty of the whole. This reflects taking the courage to delve into my own underside... the place where losses and grief are kept. Without the whole, the true beauty of the Leaf is missed.

The Lover Archetype - Mini Quest 2
Melissa
This poem is important to me because it reflects how the strength and beauty of connection has been transformative for me. My connection with nature has flourished throughout my recovery journey with Write to Freedom and has allowed me to feel at peace, calm and a sense of belonging on this earth. The poem reflects the bond that I felt developed with my buddy and the joy of creating this together.
I have been in recovery for 3 and a half years, since 20th October 2016.
I have been involved with Write to Freedom since February 2017.

This poem emerged from the experience of connecting with a tree, becoming aware of the details and noticing the changes. I enjoyed the process of re-connecting daily and sharing with my buddy, it was a lot of fun! I felt supported, grounded and inspired. Forming a relationship, seeing reflections and similarities between myself, the tree, my buddy. Now I am connecting with more trees, the natural world around me and interacting differently.
I have been in recovery for 2 years, since the 5th May 2018.
I have been involved with Write to Freedom since September 2018.
